regulations in ITALY
Early 2006 brought change to Italy's online gambling market. The Italian State Monopolies Autonomous Administration (AAMS) introduced new online gaming regulations by establish preemptive right on, and the exclusive power to offer, online gambling to its population. This new law enabled Italian government to prohibit their citizens from playing with offshore based companies and collect much needed taxes. Online poker was introduced in 2008 and since it has captured large percentage of the Italian internet gaming market. IGSoft passed its first "collaudo" (AAMS-SOGEI test) in July of 2009 and is poised for the entry into this very lucrative market.
